Attention Deficit Disorder

ADD is a phrase that encompasses a wide variety of terms used to describe “disorders” in children such as ‘hyperkinetic reaction of childhood’, ‘hyperactive child syndrome’, ‘minimal brain dysfunction’ and ‘minor cerebral dysfunction. All of these descriptions revolve around learning disabilities marked by developmentally inappropriate brief attention span and concentration for the child’s age. ADD can exist with or without hyperactivity or can be residual (individuals eighteen years or older).

Food sensitivities, ear infection, nutritional deficiency and heavy metal toxicity have been found to be contributing factors to these conditions.

Several clinical studies have shown that nutritional supplementation can improve mental function in school-aged children. High quality nutrition is important throughout life but most vital earlier in life, during physical, mental and social development.
