Chondroitin Sulphate


  • Chondroitin, an important component of the body's tendons, ligaments and cartilage is derived from shark cartilage.
  • Chondroitin Sulfate is an endogenous Glycosaminoglycan (GAG). It is composed of Glucuronic Acid + N-acetyl-D-galactosamine + Glucosamine Sulfate.
  • Glycosaminoglycans provide a mild anti-inflammatory action.
  • Chondroitin sulphate concentrates in the bones and is an important constituent of connective tissue.
  • The calcium content of chondroitin assists against the development of osteoporosis and is a useful treatment for osteoarthritis.
  • Chondroitin Sulfate is an important constituent of cartilage and helps to maintain the resilience of Cartilage.  It also helps to rebuild damaged Cartilage.
  • The shark cartilage form of chondroitin sulphate inhibits Elastase, an enzyme that degrades cartilage (one of the underlying processes that occurs during the progression of osteoarthritis).
