Kilojoule

A unit used to measure energy.

1 kiloJoule = 0.239005736 kilocalories (calories)

When we eat food, we convert it into energy to fuel to body.  How much energy this food contains we can measure in terms of kilojoules.  If we consume more kilojoules than we burn via exercise or activity, we will accumulate it as body fat.
