Lactoferrin

Lactoferrin is a protein found in the whey fraction of cows milk.  Studies have shown lactoferrin to display an immunomodulatory role where it may not only stimulate immune function, but also provide a degree of passive immunity acting as a first line of defence against infective agents.

Lactoferrin is also rich in cystine, giving it an advanced ability to stimulate glutathione, the body's own powerful antioxidant.

These functional properties of lactoferrin have a very promising application in the treatment of cancer, infections, HIV and AIDS and other states where immune function is compromised.
