Lactoperoxidase

A protein naturally found in the whey component of dairy.

Lactoperoxidase has been shown to exhibit both bactericidal and bacteriostatic properties to a wide variety of invading micro-organisms, while having no effect on the proteins and enzymes in your own body.  There has been a suggestion that lactoperoxidase acts synergistically with lactoferrin.
