P.S.A. (Prostate Specific Antigen)
PSA is an enzyme produced primarily by the cells that line the acini and ducts of the prostate gland. High PSA levels in the blood may be a sign of a prostate problem like infection, swelling of the prostate, or even prostate cancer.
Aside from prostate problems, some physical events and procedures can affect PSA levels. Sexual ejaculation, prostate digital examination and biopsy can raise the PSA.
