Pilates
Pilates (pronounced Pi-lah-tees) is an exercise method that aims to create balance, optimal strength, flexibility and endurance without adding bulk. Developed by Joseph Pilates in the early 1900's, the exercises can be customised for everyone from rehab patients to elite athletes and are performed either on a mat or by using a range of equipment.
Regular Pilates practice helps to elongate and tone your muscles, at the same time improving core stability and dramatically improving your posture and the way you move in space. The exercises help to heighten body awareness and complement all other forms of exercise and sports.
