Tameka Day recovers after bike accident

Aussie Bodies' top sponsored tri-athlete Tameka Day is recovery well, after coming off her bike in the final race of the French Grand Prix in August.

With 3 other participants, Tameka was tackling a technical descent during the bike leg. She hit a corner of the road at 40kmph only 3km from the finish line, before crashing.

Tameka was taken to a major hospital after suffering a broken nose, lacerations to her head, and severe skin loss. Testament to her usual fighting spirit, she was sitting up and talking within only a week or so of the accident.

Now back home in Australia, Tameka is 'busy' resting and completing her rehabilitation in Fremantle with her husband Leigh. She is progressing well, although slowly, allowing her body to repair and gradually strengthen, day by day. The latest report is that she's back in the gym and doing some swimming, although this is somewhat limited by her back-brace. Riding and running are off limits still, for now.

Tameka's performance earlier this year throughout Europe and Canada have been impressive, with an ever increasing list of victories. The Aussie Bodies team always look forward to sharing with you her challenges and successes, inspired by her courage, determination and athleticism.

With her impressive rate of improvement it's very likely that Tameka will once again triumph. She is continuing to take her Aussie Bodies sports nutritionals with the conviction and courage of a true winner!

On behalf of our customers and all her supporters, we continue to extend best regards to Tameka and her family, who are intimately involved in supporting her return to complete wellness.
